Volunteers - Volunteer Opportunities MADD Barrie/Simcoe Chapter offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. We hope that you will find your involvement with MADD Canada to be as rewarding and fulfilling as other volunteers have already experienced. There are several ways of becoming involved with our Chapter. You could become a volunteer and come out to events or you could become involved even further and take on a role within our Board of Directors. Normally before we get too involved with all of that we first need to know a little more about yourself and where your interests are with regard to impaired driving. Are you still in the school system? Have you ever been affected by impaired driving, perhaps losing someone or suffering injuries? One very important question we must ask up front is whether you have ever been charged with and/or convicted on impaired related charges? When you have a moment please contact us and if you are interested in going further with this we would be glad to send you out an information package. The next step would be to invite you to come as a guest to one of our monthly meetings and we can go from there. We also ask all new Members to complete a Police background check as we deal with some of the most vulnerable, youth and families that are grieving. The following volunteer opportunities may be or are available within our chapter. All volunteer opportunities are only available to MEMBERS of the Chapter and only after the appropriate training or voting etc takes place, We also ask that you be a member, in good standing, for a minimum 3 months prior to taking on a Board position. Thank you for your interest. Every day, volunteers of MADD Canada must deal with the senseless loss of lives and human carnage that result from impaired driving. The sad reality is the tragic results of alcohol-related crashes are 100% preventable. We welcome volunteers who are committed to carrying out our mission - making our streets and communities a safer place to live.
