Annual Red Ribbon Tree Lighting

Despite the rain and cold on Friday December 1st!  Over 30 people attended our 1st Annual Red Ribbon Tree Lighting on Friday December 1st, 2006!  Friends and family of victims tied red ribbons and white angels on the tree in tribute to loved ones.  Saint John Mayor Norm MacFarlane, with his wife Cynthia, were in attendance.  Police officers from the Saint John City Police Force, and the Rothesay Regional Police Force aslo attended!  Splash, the Saint John Seadogs Mascot served hot chocolate and Timbits. Local chapter president Chuck Crawford thanked the sponsors of this event and encouraged people to get the message out, “to tie one on for safety, drive safe, drive sober.”  MADD National President Karen Dunham requested a moment of silence in memory of all victims.

Thank you to all for attending, and to all who support the Red Ribbon Campaign and our tree in Saint John, NB!
