The following message was provided by Scott's mother, Debbie Rose.
My name is Debbie Rose, mother of Scott Barrett. There is a constant feeling of emptiness in my life and there always will be, because of the careless actions of one young man.
Updated September 2001
In loving memory of Scott Anthony Barrett who was killed on August 12th, 1997
The twelfth has arrived again this year,
Bringing hurtful memories of why you’re not here.
Four years go by - we’re still wondering why
You were taken so early, with God, in the sky.
The distance between us makes it impossible to speak.
The questions that are unanswered make us all feel so weak.
But now, four years since you have been gone -
Your laughter, humour and great big smile lives on.
Through our memories and your children
You brighten up each day
With your presence within us in every single way.
Our memories keep you here until we meet in the sky,
Then we will be happy together in the heavens on high.
Until then we will all miss you but never forget
How fortunate we all were to have such a special person in our family.
Love always and forever,
Mum, Michael, Laurie, Doug, Shari and family
xoxo
