The Red Ribbon campaign is officially underway in the province.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the New Brunswick RCMP kicked off the annual campaign in Fredericton yesterday.
120 white crosses have been put on display at RCMP Headquarters as a representation of the average number of lives lost in Canada each month because of impaired driving.
A pair of crutches was also placed at the memorial for the thousands who have survived, but were injured.
Last year, a third of the motor vehicle crashes in RCMP territory involved the use of drugs or alcohol.
In 2017, there were 22 deaths as a result of impaired driving crashes.
