Each year, hundreds of Canadians are killed and tens of thousands are injured as a result of alcohol and/or drug-related crashes. These deaths and injuries are 100% preventable. They can be avoided if people do not get behind the wheels of their vehicles impaired.
MADD Canada works to stop impaired driving and to support victims/survivors of this violent crime.
- Through our awareness and education programs, we are trying to change behaviours, and make everyone aware that driving when impaired is a criminal and potentially deadly act.
- Through our public policy initiatives, we are working to ensure Canada has effective laws which take impaired drivers off the roads and serve both punitive and deterrent functions for anyone who thinks they can drive impaired without consequence.
- Through our Victim Services program, we offer support and resources to assist those who have lost loved ones or suffered injuries in impaired driving crashes on their journeys of recovery.

You can help! MADD Canada offers a wide range of opportunities for people who want to join the fight to end impaired driving and support victims/survivors.
Contact your local Chapter today to find out about events and activities in your community and how you can get involved.
If there isn’t a local group in your area, consider joining one of our awareness campaigns, such as Project Red Ribbon or Campaign 911.
