Jessica Anne Ondejko
Home city: Amherstburg, ON
Date of crash: May 8, 2008
Jessica was driving to work on the morning of Thursday, May 8, 2008 when a drunk driver crossed over into her lane and crashed head on into her vehicle. It was 7:20 a.m. She died instantly; there wasn’t a chance for survival. That day has changed our lives forever.
Jessica was the baby of our family that has a Mom, Dad and three girls. She always loved our family and knew how to get exactly what she wanted from all of us. She knew all she had to do was flash that big beautiful smile and we would all be putty in her hands. Jessica especially loved her toddler niece and was anxious to see her grow and spoil her rotten!
Jessica was very outgoing and fun loving. She had many friends. She loved to get dressed up and go out with the girls. She was pretty well rounded and could have fun anywhere doing just about anything. As much as she loved being beautiful, she could let her hair down and play in the dirt if she wanted to and still come up looking gorgeous.
Jessica had a boyfriend, which she was planning a future with. She was very close with him and his family. They had both just started steady careers and were apartment hunting together. They loved each other more than most people do after years of marriage. They truly were soul mates and were meant to be together.
It is so hard to believe what has happened to her. Someone who made the wrong irresponsible choice has caused a lifetime of pain and suffering for her family and friends who love her dearly. Our lives will never be the same. There are no amount of words that can describe what has happened to us. We can only believe that she is still with us, in spirit, guiding us and helping us cope. She will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go
Some people move our souls to dance
They awaken us to new understanding
With the passing whisper of their wisdom
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts
And we are never ever the same.
