I am Josh’s mom….
I was told after Josh’s accident that he would be a catalyst for change, and I sincerely hope that it was true. He did change people with his crazy, fun, loving, and good natured personality. So much so that I have a book filled with notes from people who met him or knew him. Notes from strangers even that he had helped out when he had walked by their houses and he seen that they needed help. Josh gave what he could and when he had nothing, he shared his smile and his sense of humour. I am not sure where he would have gone in life but I know that he changed where he had been.
Since then, Josh has become an organ donor and changed the lives of 5 more people, gave them a second chance at life. In his name, a scholarship helps kids go to post secondary school, The A-Moose-ing Race was formed to help raise money for the Kidney Foundation and to promote organ donor awareness, and money is donated to help the MADD cause. The world has changed because of Josh. I am Josh’s mom….and I know he changed me.
