Date of crash: 12/12/2015
On December 12, 2015, our beautiful Kalina passed away in a car crash. Our daughter was taken away from us so abruptly. She was only 22; a happy, healthy, strong and very talented young woman that made us proud every moment of every day. In all aspects of her being, she was perfect. She excelled in everything she did and was able to work, study and travel to many different countries all over the world, complete the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree with Magna Cum Laude and finish the first year of her master’s program in ESCP Madrid. She won business competitions, ran marathons, supported charities, worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa during her undergraduate years, pursued a musical career and developed a passion for pretty much any sport under the sun, basketball, swimming being her favorite. With that being said, I know that she would have considered her greatest achievement not her academic or professional accomplishments but the love, compassion and kindness she unconditionally gave to friends, family and strangers alike – she truly was a ray of sunshine, as her friends liked to call her. We didn’t simply love our daughter, we admired her beyond words with all our hearts. We miss her with an intensity that is indescribable….
